Porsche Macan to Bring High Performance to Compact SUV Segment
Top-Trim Utility Will be First Model to Host Automaker's New Turbo V6
Although billed as a compact SUV, the 2014 Porsche Macan will pack a big punch when it arrives at Porsche dealerships late next year, bringing along a dedicated high-performance option to its class for the first time. According to British auto publication Autocar, the range-topping Macan Turbo will deliver around 370 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, enough power to carve a sizable niche for itself in the performance 4x4 department.
The Macan Turbo will be the first Porsche to feature the automaker's new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine, which Autocar says is derived from the 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 powerplant of its bigger brother, the Porsche Cayenne. The added power in the new engine comes from the addition of twin turbochargers and an air-to-air inter cooler system, as well as other tweaks like a lower compression ratio. With a lack of high-performance trims from competitors like the BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque, Porsche expects the Macan Turbo to be the fastest model in its small SUV class.

And then along comes Porsche with a four-door like no other, the Panamera. The 2012 Porsche Panamera is a redefinition of the four-door, four-place vehicle, but this one is more sports car than anything else.

Getting in Shape for Swim Season
Look your best this summer.
There are dozens of fad diets promising quick and easy weight loss, but the truth is there’s no magic formula, powder or pill to melt away weight. The trick is really no trick at all: A reduced-calorie diet coupled with exercise. You don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods or sweat for hours to see results, either. In fact, experts often advise that you shouldn’t make changes you can’t sustain over the long term. If you get frustrated, you’re more likely to give up.

Service Corner
by Derek Couture
Your new Porsche will only require its routine service every 10,000 miles or once a year. It's important to remember that time is just as important of a factor as mileage is. There is a warning indicator that will appear on the drivers information display - also known as the instrument cluster - to remind you that your vehicle needs service. The reminder is triggered by two different factors; mileage or calendar time.
One warning that may come on is the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) indicator. This is an orange light that informs you of low tire pressure in one or more of your tires. Keep in mind that the outside temperature will cause your tire pressures to fluctuate. It is a good idea to check and adjust (if necessary) your tire pressure once a month. If you'd like you can stop by your Porsche of Nashua Service Department and we would be more than happy to do it for you!
Another light that may appear between services is the Minimum Oil Warning. It's okay to keep driving the car for a short distance if necessary but add oil as soon as possible. The engine holds many quarts of oil and when the light comes on it's telling you that it's slighly low. Typically your Porsche will only need 1/2 to 1 quart of Mobil One 0W-40 synthetic oil to bring the level back to full. It is absolutely normal for the engine to consume some oil between service. The amount of oil the engine is consuming will usually subside as the engine breaks in. Remember, DO NOT overfill the oil!
If you have any service questions or would like to schedule a service you can call me at (603) 578-3771.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
