Petey - Update
Petey's white sidePetey came into IGCA Rescue from a shelter in Oklahoma.  Within 3 hours of arrival, he started showing symptoms of Parvo.  He tested a very high positive and is currently in the ICU, fighting for his life.  Petey is only 9 months old and most likely never received any vaccinations as a puppy.  He had almost non-stop bloody diarrhea and vomiting for 24 hours straight so his little body is exhausted.  He was already very thin, showing 7 vertebrae and sharp hip bones, so he is fighting an uphill battle.. but he IS fighting.

UPDATE:  Petey is out of the hospital!  He is still incredibly thin but he is a sweet, waggy, kissy boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his people!  He still wears out pretty quickly and sleeps a lot but that is to be expected with no body fat.  He is eating, drinking and complaining normally!  ;)  He is VERY tired of being crated but is pretty easily distracted with a chewy.  Watch for better pics and a full bio as he gets better!

Petey on the mend! Each of the dogs pictured below inside a red box are costing IGCA Rescue a minimum of $500 and several are $3,000 or more.  While many of you see us as a large organization who magically helps every Iggy we can, the money doesn't grow on trees.  Our donations are down right now due to the economy, just as all other non-profits across the country.  If you can help, please use the PayPal link below to give all you can.  No matter what a dog may cost Rescue in vetting, we still only receive $250 for adoptions.  You can do the math and see that the money flows out faster than it comes in.  PLEASE help us keep doing the work that means so much to us and to the Dogs.  Thank you!
